At SwemSchool, our Learn to Swim Classes is perpetual, meaning instruction continues year-round. This approach allows students to progress at their own pace, gaining confidence and skills in a supportive, consistent learning environment.
When you enroll in a class, you’re registering for a classes, not a specific instructor. Every member of our instructional team completes a rigorous training process to ensure a high standard of teaching. While each instructor brings their own unique style and personality, all are committed to delivering safe, effective, and engaging instruction.

Swimming and Water Safety for Everyone
CEO Trish P. Miller learned to swim as an adult after her own near drowning experience as a teenager. That experience inspired her to be an advocate for community-based drowning prevention classes.
The SwemSchool offers lessons for students of all ages, from infancy to adulthood, and believes that anyone, at any age, can benefit from swimming.
Our mission is simple: We guide each person’s journey towards the FREEDOM of swimming by addressing inequities, educating communities, and prioritizing safety.

Baby’s first swim lesson! This highly engaging class helps your child get comfortable in the water while parents learn water safety skills to reduce the risk of infant drowning. Parent/Guardian must be in the water with the child.
A fun, engaging introduction to water comfort and safety. Students learn to enter and exit safely, hold their breath, float, and begin basic swimming movements. Includes Toddler 1 (intro to water comfort and independence, ratio 1:3) and Toddler 2 (intermediate foundation for strokes, ratio 1:5).
Tailored instruction for swimmers of all levels. Our certified instructors help students progress from water acclimation and safety basics to confident strokes and endurance. Levels include Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Intermediate 1, and Intermediate 2—each building on the last to develop confidence and proficiency.
It’s never too late to learn! Patient, certified instructors guide adults through water safety, foundational strokes, and endurance training. Available in group, semi-private, and private settings for personalized attention.
Personalized instruction designed around individual goals. Semi-private (2:1 ratio) and private (1:1) lessons help beginners gain confidence or refine technique.
Private Lesson Age Requirement: Students must be at least 5 years old for 45-minute lessons. Limited 30-minute lessons for ages 2–5 available upon request ($275).
There’s no workout like a water workout! This 60-minute, instructor-led class uses resistance training for cardio, strength, and endurance—improving coordination, joint stability, and heart health.
Designed for swimmers with physical, cognitive, or sensory differences. Individualized instruction promotes safety, confidence, and joyful participation at every level.
A supportive, all-women environment that builds water confidence and fundamental swim skills—from basic safety to your first strokes.
DROWNING PREVENTION
Drowning is still one of the most common causes of accidental death in children.
Strength, flexibility, and stamina are all improved through the act of regular swim-based exercises.


All of our instructors are Red Cross certified.
Our experienced instructors welcome all swimmers to learn gradually and comfortably.

Our Adaptive Aquatics Classes is a 6-week class thoughtfully designed for children who benefit from a more personalized approach to swim instruction. Led by experienced instructors trained in adaptive techniques, each lesson is tailored to support a wide range of learning styles, communication methods, and behavioral needs.
Through patient guidance and positive reinforcement, swimmers build confidence, learn essential water safety skills, and gain comfort in the water, all within a calm, encouraging environment. A required intake call and in-water assessment ensure every child is matched with the right instructor and supports for their success.
This classes provides specialized instruction and thoughtful modifications to traditional swim lessons, without replacing any therapeutic services. Our goal is to meet each child where they are, offering clear communication, consistent structure, and individualized attention that helps every swimmer feel capable and confident in the water.
LIFEGUARD TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
Our Lifeguard Training & Certification classes is designed for individuals who want to play a vital role in keeping others safe in and around the water.
Through comprehensive instruction led by certified American Red Cross trainers, participants learn essential skills in water rescue, surveillance, first aid, and emergency response.
This course combines classroom learning with hands-on practice to prepare you for real-world situations, whether that’s preventing accidents before they occur or responding swiftly in an emergency.Participants who successfully complete all course requirements earn an American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification, valid for two years.
This certification is widely recognized and can open doors to employment opportunities at pools, beaches, and aquatic facilities.


Our CPR & First Aid Certification course provides participants with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in both aquatic and everyday emergencies. Taught by certified Red Cross instructors, this course covers infant, child, and adult CPR, as well as essential first aid techniques that can save lives.
Through a combination of demonstrations, guided practice, and scenario-based learning, you’ll develop the ability to assess situations quickly and take immediate, appropriate action. Whether you’re a swim instructor, coach, or community member, these skills are invaluable in preventing emergencies from escalating and ensuring the best possible outcomes.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a Red Cross CPR & First Aid certification, demonstrating their readiness to respond when every second counts. This credential is a valuable asset for personal preparedness and a requirement for many professional roles within aquatic and recreation settings.
